PARTNERSHIPS

The key to the success of any program is the partnerships which are established. In order to maintain a systemic approach of intervention and prevention, collaboration is a necessity. JIPP has developed relationships with the following parties to ensure and facilitate the successful implementation of JIPP. These partnerships help support key areas of the system that need to be strengthened to support the whole child.

Los Angeles Police Department (Rampart Division) – The LAPD is responsible for providing the supervision of all three stages of the JIPP program. Officers work in conjunction with the LAUSD for the overall administration of the program, including but not limited to, enrollment, parent orientation, registration, marketing, community relations, insurance and legalities (the Police Activity League), leadership and the character development curriculum.

California State University, Los Angeles – Cal State LA provides the graduate- level students who work as interns for the JIPP program. Interns are responsible for providing clinical services to JIPP students. Interns also monitor the JIPP students’ academic progress at their home schools as well as their performance in the academic interventions of the JIPP program.

Families In Schools (Pending Grants) – FIS provides “Got College” curriculum and “Transition to High School” curriculum. FIS also provides oversight and advisement for the parenting component.

Alliance for a Better Community – ABC provides support for community advocacy of the JIPP program.

Los Angeles Unified School District (Local District 4) – LAUSD is responsible for the administration of all on-campus interventions of the JIPP program. LAUSD provides the instructors for the academic classes and Ripple Effects licenses/curriculum. LAUSD also provides the teachers to facilitate the parenting group component of the JIPP program. LAUSD works in conjunction with the LAPD to compile and prepare empirical data.
